In 1873, Shiba, Asakusa, Fukagawa, Asukayama are specified as the first park in Japan by Dajokan proclamation. It used to be the area of Higashi Eizan Kanei Shrine in Edo period (1603-1868 CE). It became as government property after Meiji Restoration, then it has granted to Tokyo city through Imperial Household agency in 1924. At first it was centering on the main building of Kanei Shrine, mausoleum, Toshogu Shrine and its area. After that museum and zoo, art museum was built which makes it more cultural park.

Asakusa is one of the down town in Tokyo which is mixing with present and past.
It holds an established position for popular sightseeing spot.

This is the oldest museum in Japan. This museum had migrated to Uchiyama downtown after it opened. After that it migrated to Ueno park in 1882 until present.
